# Assign Products to Vendors

When adding a new product in Shopify Admin, ensure that the Vendor field is set up as you wish for it to appear on PuppetVendors.  This field is used to identify each vendor line item within an order, and it applies to orders with multiple vendors. We refer to this field to automatically split an order by vendor and correctly route them to their individual portal so that they see only orders that belong to them.

###### **How to assign Products to Vendors in Shopify**

1. Go to the Products page
2. Under Product Organization, please enter the vendor name under the '**Vendor**' field

3. Once done, click **Save**.

Also, when creating a new vendor within the app, the vendor name should match the value on this field.
