# Creating a collection by vendor in Shopify

This article describes how you can create a vendor collection so that products uploaded by vendors will show in the right collection.

###### How to sync your vendor collections in PuppetVendors

1. In your merchant portal, go to **Settings**
2. Next go to the **Users **tab
3. Click **Profile**

4. Scroll down to the Vendor Collections Sync, tick the option to '**Automatically sync collections on Shopify based on vendors created or deleted on PuppetVendors**'

5. This pop-up window will appear.  Type in '***start collection sync***' on the field provided and click **OK**.

6. The box will be ticked.  Please click '**Save**' to update your account with this change.

6. Once enabled, when you click on the Preview Page button on your vendor's profile, it will show you a preview of the collection for them.

Please note that once this option is** disabled**, the collections will ***no longer show ***from your Shopify store.  You have the option to *manually* connect the vendor's profile to a collection by clicking the **Connect Profile** button on your vendor's profile.

###### How to create the collection in Shopify

1. In your Shopify store, go to **Products** > **Collections** and click the **Create Collection** button

2. A new window will appear.  Fill out the collection name (ideally, by vendor name) and description for what is in the collection.

3. Under Collection Type, you can choose between **5.1 Manual** or **5.2 Smart**.  If you choose '**Manual**', this means you will manually upload the products in the collection.  For **Smart**,  you can automate the vendor's association to the product by using the tags.  Once set, all existing and future products will show under the particular collection you created.

4.  Please click the **Save** button to save your entries.
