# How to bulk create or update vendor products via CSV file

This guide shows how to create new or update existing products, including inventory via CSV in bulk.

##### Excel Template columns

Please take note of the following before uploading:

1. Column **_id** is a unique identifier for each product.  Please do not delete the column.

||| Existing products will have an _id value in the field, but you must leave the column blank if this is a new product.  Please do not make any changes.

2. Bulk uploaded products will be in active, draft or pending status depending on the merchant's permission settings.
3. The **Handle** should be unique for each product. New variants for the same product should have the same handle.
4. **Images** should be in a URL format and should be a direct source to the image (e.g.: https://unsplash.com/photos/A6JxK37IlPo)
5. If you are a vendor, please leave this column as is.
6. Supported file type: CSV
7. All columns are required. Use default values if unsure

**Available Columns and Description**

##### How to update existing products by batch

1. From your Vendor portal, go to **Products **and click the **Import** button.

2. A pop-up window will appear.  Click the **'Export to CSV'** button to download the template.

3. The csv template will be downloaded and will look like this.

4. Please edit the product details corresponding to that of your preferred item for updating.  See below.

5. Once all fields are filled-out, save the csv file.  Click the **Choose File **button and upload through the **Upload **button.

6. Review columns mapping. They are useful for confirming Inventory Locations and Metafields

7. Review uploaded content and fix errors

7. You can then check for the updated products added in your list by using the **Search** field in the Products tab.
