How to process an order refund (partial or full order)

This article demonstrates how to process a partial or full refund on your Shopify store so it reflects correctly in PuppetVendors.


To refund orders in PuppetVendors, please take the following steps:


  1. Go to Shopify, choose the order which will be refunded and click the Refund button (1).

  1. For Partial Refunds, choose one or more items (but not all) to be refunded. It is important to select the item(s) quantity to be refunded.

  1. For Full Refund, choose all line items. It is important to select the item(s) quantity to be refunded.

  1. Next add the Reason for refund

  1. Under the Summary field, you can choose the refund method. Ideally, it is set to original payment this way, the refund will be based on whatever payment method was used by the customer.

In this sample, the customer paid via Cash on Delivery and the amount available for refund will show.


  1. Before clicking on the Refund button, you have the option to notify your customer.

  1. After clicking on the Refund button, the status will change from Paid to Refunded.

  1. The status will also be sync into PuppetVendors automatically.
