What is vacation mode?

Vacation mode allows vendors to indicate that they are temporarily unavailable (e.g., on vacation) and automate the hiding or showing of their products on Shopify by setting them to either Draft or Love status based on a configurable date range. This prevents customers from purchasing from unavailable vendors and keeps storefronts accurate.

How to activate vacation mode for your vendors

1. Go to Settings
2. Then Users
3. Next, go to Profile

4. Scroll to the lower part of the Profile page on under the banner and check the Vacation box.
5. Type in a default message which will appear as the offline message in case your vendors haven't added a message on their end.
6. Click the Save button.

This will now enable vacation mode for your vendors.

How your vendors can activate vacation mode in the vendor portal

Once you enable this for your vendors, they can activate vacation mode when they log in to their vendor portal

1. They can go to Profile tab
2. The vendors should have a banner and a logo uploaded. The size requirements are indicated in the corresponding fields.

3. On the lower part of the page, they can set their vacation mode by ticking the box beside the field
4. Next, they can choose the dates inclusive of their vacation period
5. They can enter an offline message. In case they do not enter any message, the default message set by the merchant will appear.

6. Lastly, they can click the Save button to save their vacation mode settings.

How this appears on your Shopify Store

Once set, the offline message will appear on the vendor's profile banner.

All the vendors products will be set to Draft status which hides them from your customers/on your Shopify store front. Once the vacation period has ended, the products will be set back to Active status making them available to your customers.
